Sally Alexander, Executive Director of OLASS, provides an overview of the areas covered by Milton Keynes College in the Offender Learning sector.
Milton Keynes College is one of the largest providers of Offender Learning in England. The College is contracted to work across twenty-eight prisons in the East & West Midlands and the South Central region, 30% of all delivery nationally.
Learning and skills is provided across A – D category, High Security, Young Offenders, the female estate and open prisons in both public sector and private sector prisons.
The College is committed to working in partnership with the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) to ensure a clear synergy between all elements of the regime to maximise outcomes and value for money.

We are working closely with key partners to enhance the curriculum offer. These partners include the National Careers Service, DWP (Department for Work and Pensions), third sector, and specialist organisations.
Programmes are being developed in partnership with a range of employers in order to offer a responsive and relevant curriculum, which includes work experience and work opportunities.
We are committed to delivering a high-quality service for learners and robust Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement processes are in place across all of our prisons.
The College has delivered Offender Learning for more than twenty years starting with delivery at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes and culminating with the successful award of three Units of Procurement in 2012, consisting of delivery at twenty-eight prisons.
